January 24th marks International Day of Education, an opportunity to look at why climate change education is important and to highlight how UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its partners are bringing together government experts, along with practitioners and learners, to boost knowledge about climate change.
How UNV celebrated International Volunteer Day in Arab States
The International Volunteer Day campaign in 2022 focused on solidarity through volunteering. In the Arab States, celebrations aimed to translate the campaign’s slogan "Together, Act Now" into action. In a variety of initiatives, participants joined forces with volunteers or stood in solidarity with people from vulnerable local communities.

Release of TVET-strategy 2022-2029
On tuesday October 25, the UNESCO International Centre for Vocational Education and Training (UNESCO-UNEVOC) presented in Bonn its new strategy in the field of "Technical and Vocational Education and Training". Guests included Parliamentary State Secretary Jens Brandenburg of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Stefania Giannini, UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Education, and Borhene Chakroun, Head of UNESCO's TVET Division.
Graduate students visit UNCCD to discuss the sustainable future of land
At the start of the new academic year, the United Nations Regional Information Centre in Bonn together with UNCCD, hosted a group of graduate students from Côte d’Ivoire, Germany and Kenya to discuss the Convention’s work on combating drought and desertification and the role of science in supporting good land stewardship.
Graduation Returns to the UN Campus
The Joint Master’s of Geography of Environment and Human Security recently gathered in the Langer Eugen at the UN Campus and online to celebrate the graduation of 41 students. Although it was a hybrid format, it marked the return of an in-person graduation ceremony after a two-year pause from the pandemic.
2022 UN Summer Academy to examine sustainable transformation pathways
The 11th UN Summer Academy kicks off on Monday, 27 June 2022 and will bring together more than 100 committed sustainability actors working in 60 countries.
Themed "Sustainable Transformation Pathways," this year's online event will explore key challenges to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly in areas such as health and well-being, social protection, and climate action.

UNESCO-UNEVOC: 20 Years of Action
