The campaign for International Volunteer Day (IVD) 2017, “Volunteers Act First. Here. Everywhere.”, celebrated worldwide on December 5, is a recognition of the positive solidarity of volunteers around the world who answer calls in times of crisis, helping save lives today and supporting those who want to continue living their lives with dignity tomorrow. #VolunteersActFirst´. The number of people affected by humanitarian crisis and natural disaster is growing by the day. 65 million people are forcibly displaced, either internally in their own countries or seeking shelter across borders.
UNV participates in IVCO 2017 and demonstrates the importance of partnerships in volunteering
The 2017 International Volunteer Cooperation Organisations’ Conference (IVCO 2017) takes place from 22 to 25 October in Seoul, Republic of Korea. IVCO aims at providing a platform for volunteer involving organizations to create and demonstrate innovative and transformative partnerships through volunteering.

As the international community prepares to advance progress towards the objectives of the Paris Climate Change Agreement in Bonn, at the annual UN Climate Change Conference (COP23, from 6 to 7 November), a mobilization of a different kind is taking place behind the scenes.
COP23: Bula and Bonn zones are growing fast
The preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 23) in Bonn are in full swing. Following the beginning of the construction phase on 14th of August, the organisers have only about two months left to build an impressive array of temporary buildings in order to welcome more than 25,000 delegates and visitors. Build on an area of 35,000 square meters, the flooring will cover a surface of 50,000 square meters.
